01 / EARLY NETWORK STRATEGY

Bring Halo in before the key decisions are fixed.

The earlier Halo is involved, the more opportunity there is to shape the network around the development rather than retrofit a solution later.

Early input allows us to review supply options, capacity, staging, servicing routes and network interfaces before those decisions begin to affect cost, programme or site planning.

02 / SUPPLY CAPACITY AND NETWORK DESIGN

Completed residential development

Plan the capacity your development actually needs.

Halo will review your development’s current and future electrical demands to ensure the network is appropriately sized from the outset.

That means considering dwelling yield, staging, expected load, future growth and any larger electrical requirements early, so the network can support the project without unnecessary overdesign or costly upgrades later.

03 / NETWORK OPERATOR COORDINATION

Manage the interface with Vector.

Halo coordinates the connection between the local distribution network and your development, managing the technical requirements, approvals and information needed to establish the point of supply.

This gives the developer a single point of coordination rather than having to manage the network interface independently.

04 / NETWORK ESTABLISHMENT

Create a clear operating network for the development.

Halo establishes the development network as a defined electricity distribution network, including the required network infrastructure, ICPs, metering and operational framework.

The result is a network that is ready to be energised, operated and maintained as the development progresses.

05 / INFRASTRUCTURE DELIVERY AND ACCEPTANCE

Halo can arrange the works, or work with your team already appointed.

Halo can coordinate the physical network works through trusted electrical and civil contractors, or work alongside contractors already engaged by the development.

Either way, Halo retains responsibility for the network requirements, coordination and pathway through to operation.

Halo-arranged construction

Halo engages and coordinates trusted civil and electrical contractors and provides direct oversight of the network scope, quality requirements, testing, documentation and acceptance.

  • Trusted civil and electrical contractor network

  • Competitive contractor pricing

  • No Halo margin on underlying civil or electrical construction costs

  • Halo project management and coordination

  • Testing, certification and documentation requirements

  • Inspection and network acceptance

  • Long-term Halo ownership and operation

Developer-arranged construction

The developer retains its preferred civil and electrical contractors, subject to Halo approval and compliance with Halo’s network requirements.

  • Existing project contractors retained

  • Halo technical and design requirements provided

  • Required testing and electrical certification

  • Accurate as-built documentation

  • Halo inspection and acceptance

  • Network establishment and ICP requirements coordinated by Halo

  • Long-term Halo ownership and operation

ONE ACCEPTANCE STANDARD

Regardless of who performs the physical works, completed infrastructure must meet the same Halo design, installation, testing, certification and documentation requirements before Halo accepts it into the network. Relevant inspection requirements must also be completed before energisation.

Use Halo’s delivery team — or keep the contractors you already trust.

06 / POWER ON

Coordinate the final steps through to energisation.

Halo manages the final network requirements through testing, compliance, ICP establishment, metering and coordination of energisation.

We stay involved until the network is fully operational and the development is ready for connection.

07 / LONG-TERM OPERATION

The network remains professionally managed after completion.

08 / FLEXIBLE DELIVERY IN PRACTICE

Keeping the developer’s contractors in place.

On an Auckland residential development, the developer already had established civil and electrical contractors working effectively across the project and wanted them to remain responsible for the internal physical works.

Halo structured the network pathway around that existing delivery team. Halo reviewed the supply arrangement, established the network and boundary requirements, coordinated metering and ICP requirements, and provided the standards required for inspection and final acceptance.

Following completion, testing, certification and receipt of the required as-built information, the infrastructure could be accepted into the Halo network for long-term ownership and operation.

09 / CHORUS COLLABORATION

We can help with fibre too.

Halo’s collaboration with Chorus means fibre can be considered alongside the electricity network from the outset.

We can also assist with project-specific fibre discussions with Chorus, helping avoid unnecessary duplication and securing heavily-discounted connection fees where possible.

Halo doesn’t add a margin or receive a commission from Chorus. We just do it for the love.
