what halo does

One coordinated network pathway, shaped around your project.

Halo plans, establishes, owns, monitors and operates electricity distribution networks for residential and land developments.

We can deliver the complete network pathway, or work alongside your existing civil and electrical contractors already appointed to the project.

The right model depends on the development, the team already in place and where Halo can create the strongest commercial, technical and long-term benefit.

01 / EARLY NETWORK STRATEGY

Bring Halo in before the key decisions are fixed.

Early involvement gives Halo more opportunity to review the proposed supply, network layout, development staging and delivery pathway before unnecessary cost or complexity becomes locked in.

We can assess the development against the current local network operator proposal and identify where a different approach may simplify the project or reduce avoidable infrastructure.

02 / SUPPLY CAPACITY AND NETWORK DESIGN

Completed residential development

Plan the capacity your development actually needs.

Halo reviews the development’s likely demand, occupancy, staging and future requirements so the supply and network can be planned more intelligently.

The aim isn’t simply to minimise capacity. It’s to avoid unnecessary oversizing while maintaining appropriate long-term headroom and reliability.

03 / NETWORK OPERATOR COORDINATION

Manage the interface with the local network operator.

Halo can engage with your local electricity network operator to coordinate the development’s point of supply, capacity, connection requirements and boundary infrastructure.

This gives the developer a specialist representative who understands both the technical requirements and the commercial realities of residential development.

04 / NETWORK ESTABLISHMENT

Create a clear operating network for the development.

Halo establishes the network structure required for completed homes to be connected, metered and supplied through the electricity market. This includes network interfaces, gate metering, individual dwelling ICPs, registry setup and the arrangements required for retailer access.

05 / INFRASTRUCTURE DELIVERY AND ACCEPTANCE

Use Halo’s delivery team — or keep the contractors you already trust.

Halo can coordinate the complete electrical infrastructure scope, or the developer’s existing civil and electrical contractors can install the internal reticulation. Where the developer retains its contractors, the infrastructure must meet Halo’s accepted design, installation, testing and documentation requirements before it becomes part of the Halo network.

Full Halo delivery

Halo coordinates the complete electrical infrastructure and network pathway.

Suitable where the developer wants one integrated delivery model. Halo manages establishment, acceptance and long-term operation.

Developer-delivered infrastructure

The developer retains its preferred civil and electrical contractors.

Halo manages the network interface, gate metering, ICP establishment, registry requirements, inspection and acceptance. Halo can provide and coordinate the electricity-network documentation required to support the development’s s224(c) process. Compliant infrastructure can then be accepted into the Halo network.

06 / POWER ON

Coordinate the final steps through to energisation.

Halo brings the final technical, registry, metering and network-operator interfaces into one coordinated pathway. This helps reduce uncertainty around inspections, acceptance, livening and energisation as the development approaches completion.

07 / LONG-TERM OPERATION

The network remains professionally managed after completion.

Halo network monitoring visual

Halo’s role continues after the homes are connected. Once the electrical infrastructure has been accepted as a Halo network, Halo owns and operates it, manages faults, monitors performance and remains accountable for the network over the long term.

08 / FLEXIBLE DELIVERY

Keep your project team.
Add Halo’s network capability.

Some developers already have civil and electrical contractors who work well together and understand the project. Halo can fit around that existing delivery structure rather than replacing it.

Developer’s contractors may deliver:

Civil trenching and ducting, internal LV reticulation, smart meter installation and livening, testing and certification

Halo retains responsibility for:

Network-operator coordination, point-of-supply arrangements, gate metering, Registry setup and ICP issue, inspection, network livening and 224c certification, long-term ownership and operation

09 / CHORUS COLLABORATION

We can help with fibre too.

Halo’s collaboration with Chorus means fibre can be considered alongside the electricity network from the outset.

We can also assist with project-specific fibre discussions with Chorus, helping avoid unnecessary duplication and securing heavily-discounted connection fees where possible.

Halo doesn’t add a margin or receive a commission from Chorus. We just do it for the love.
